Preparations
Pasuchaca is found at high elevations in the Andes of Peru where the plant is traditionally prepared as a decoction.
To prepare the decoction, add 20 g of Pasuchaca to 1 liter of boiling water in a covered ceramic pot. Allow the mixture to boil for 10 minutes, turn down the heat to low, and let the mixture simmer until 200 mL remain. Pour the decoction through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container. Take 1 cup every 8 hours. If you find the flavor too strong, add water to taste.
