Preparations:
Mutamba is taken in the form of an infusion (tea), tincture, and in capsules. Traditionally, Mutamba is mainly prepared as a decoction taken at a suggested dosage of 1 cup, 2 to 3 times daily.
To prepare a decoction of Mutamba, 1 tsp. of the powdered bark is used for each 8 oz. of water. Using medium-high heat, bring water to a boil in an open ceramic pot and then add the powder. Reduce the heat to medium-low and place the lid on the pot. Allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine strainer and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
