Preparations
In Brazil, the bark of Catuaba is commonly taken in the form of tinctures and infusions (teas). For the infusion, 1 cup is taken up to 3 times daily.
To prepare an infusion of Catuaba, place 1 tsp. of the powdered bark in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow it steep in 8 oz. of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well- sealed container.
