Simarouba (Simarouba amara) bark – 32 oz. (1 kg.) bulk powder. 

Bulk orders are prepared once a week (Thursdays). Each order is prepared in the order it is received. Cut-off time for bulk orders is each Thursday at 10 AM. Orders received after 10 AM ship the following week. Thank you for your understanding.

Preparations

The bark of Simarouba, a massive, rapidly-growing evergreen tree of the Amazon and other parts of the tropical Americas, is used in the form of a tincture and traditionally as a decoction taken at a dosage of 1 cup, 2 to 3 times daily. 

To prepare a decoction of Simarouba, 1 tsp. of the powdered bark is used for each 8 oz. of water. Using medium-high heat, bring water to a boil in an open ceramic pot and then add the powder. Reduce the heat to medium-low and place the lid on the pot. Allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine strainer and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
